A Message from the President

It is an honor and a joy to serve as the fifth president of Pasco-Hernando State College. As we begin our 52nd year of service in the 2024-2025 academic year, PHSC remains passionate in our commitment to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences that are accessible and meet the needs of the residents and businesses of our growing two-county district.

Nothing is more important than what happens in the classroom, whether that classroom is in-person, online or both. Our passion is student success and achievement through great teaching, real learning, meaningful support and operational and service excellence.

As one of the “Great 28” institutions in the Florida College System, PHSC is committed to an open-door policy that provides a welcoming and supportive environment for all students. Those with a desire to learn and the ambition to improve their lives through education will find opportunities to attain the credentials needed for a successful career and, just as importantly, to fulfill their potential as individuals and members of a society.

The flexibility and support that PHSC offers our students has led to significant growth and expansion over the last five decades. The College currently serves more than 9,000 students at six locations conveniently located throughout Pasco and Hernando counties.  Whether taking classes on campus or online, our students can achieve their academic and career goals close to home at a college that is among the most affordable in the nation.

One popular option at PHSC allows students to earn “stackable credentials” to build resumes and career opportunities as they advance, if desired, to associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and beyond.  Our articulation agreements with Pasco and Hernando county schools allow students to dually enroll at PHSC, earning both high school and college credentials at no cost to families for tuition, fees and books.

PHSC’s more than 60,000 alumni, many of whom choose to live and work locally, represent virtually every occupation. Our graduates, along with our nearly 1,000 full and part-time employees, have enriched the culture, economy and vibrancy of the communities we serve.

We welcome you to explore PHSC’s website to learn more about our beautiful campuses, clubs and organizations, leadership and recreational opportunities, tutoring support and the many free activities and events designed to offer an exceptional college experience to our students and the community. Stop by and see us soon, and please reach out to me directly at president@phsc.edu if we can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Jesse Pisors, Ed.D.
