The Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) is accepting applications for its Pharmacy Technician Certificate program that begins in August 2018. The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians in retail and hospital settings under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The limited access program, with a maximum of 12 students in each cohort, provides students an opportunity to earn a certificate in less than a year when attending full time. Classes are held during the day at the PHSC Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel, Monday through Friday. Applicants are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Students successfully completing this program are eligible to register with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The PHSC Pharmacy Technician program is a PTCB-Recognized Sterile Compounding Education/Training program and is accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
