Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) announces a new Martial Arts and Self-Defense course for health care professionals. The course is offered as a series of six two-hour classes held on Tuesdays, beginning June 5. Classes will be held at the PHSC West Campus in New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road, in R151 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The total fee for the course is $72.
The Martial Arts and Self-Defense course, taught by James Rivera Owaza, martial artist master, and Gerri Sekelsky, MSN, RN, PHSC associate professor, nursing, will teach health care professionals how to protect themselves and safeguard their clients. Caregivers and community members are also encouraged to participate.
Course participants will learn the principles of martial arts and self-defense techniques to prevent injury and will receive 0.5 continuing education credits. To register, please call 727-816-3123 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
