Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) recently hosted Cole Foust, LGBTQ+ youth and transgender program coordinator for Metro Health, Wellness and Community in Tampa. Foust conducted the LGBTQ+ sensitivity training session for PHSC faculty and staff through the college’s Faculty Development Institute Friday series, a monthly educational program to assist faculty in developing new skills and present higher education practice, research and trends.
“PHSC is innovative and progressive, and provides an inclusive and safe environment for its students and employees. Foust presented a workshop reflective of the college’s actions to provide a collegial and outstanding learning environment,” said Margie Burnham, assistant dean of professional development and continuing education.
The session was live-streamed to all five PHSC campuses and included policy discussions, appropriate language use and issues of inclusivity and safety.
